What this site collects

1. Who is responsible

Rani Yadav-Ranjan is the data controller for this site. Contact: rani@yadav-ranjan.com.

2. What the contact form collects

If you use the form on the contact page, it collects:

• Your name and email address — required, so I can reply.
• Your organisation — optional.
• Enquiry type — which routes the message to the right inbox.
• Your message — whatever you choose to write.

That message is sent to me as an email and nothing else. There is no database behind this site and no log of submissions. Speaking enquiries go to the booking office (bookings@yadav-ranjan.com); everything else comes to me directly.

Lawful basis: Article 6(1)(b) — steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract — where you are enquiring about speaking or advisory work; otherwise Article 6(1)(f), my legitimate interest in answering correspondence addressed to me.

How long: your message lives in my email as long as the conversation is useful. Enquiries that don’t lead anywhere are deleted within 24 months. If you want yours gone sooner, ask and it’s gone.

3. What this site does not do

Stated precisely, because “we value your privacy” is not a statement of fact:

• No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no Plausible, no Meta pixel. I do not know who visits this site or what they read.
• No cookies. This site sets none. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
• No advertising, no profiling, no automated decision-making.
• Nothing is sold or shared. There is no third party to share it with.

One exception, and it is not a cookie: if you change the language, your choice is stored in your own browser (localStorage) so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device and I cannot see it. Clearing your browser data removes it.

4. Third parties your browser contacts

Loading any page here causes your browser to request files from:

• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — the typefaces.
• Cloudflare (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — the icon set.
• YouTube (i.ytimg.com) — video thumbnails, on pages that have video.

Those requests reveal your IP address to those companies. I don’t consider that acceptable and I am removing it — the fonts, icons and thumbnails will be served from this domain.

Video is already handled properly: the players on this site are images until you click them. No YouTube script runs and no YouTube cookie is set unless you press play, at which point Google’s privacy policy applies. The C200 demo clips are served from this server and involve nobody else.

5. Your rights

If you are in the EU, EEA or UK you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Email rani@yadav-ranjan.com and I will act on it. Given that the only data I hold is an email you sent me, most of these come down to “delete my message”, which I will do on request.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority in your country.

6. Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are sent to me by email; email is not end-to-end encrypted in transit, so please don’t send anything confidential through it. If you need to share something sensitive, say so and we’ll find a better channel.

7. Changes

If what this site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. A privacy notice that has drifted from the code is worse than no notice at all.
